几点说明:
一、这个文件的page copyright拥有者,是Blackmask Online(2002年;http://www.blackmask.com);
二、原译者及编集者不详;
三、语录的出处原阙,无法对照法文等原文;
四、转发者对文本内容未作任何更动,虽然浏览后已发现原件多有不够严谨处,提请读者慎重引用。
比如,我们知道Napoleon说过大意如下的话:"Liberty consists of a good civil code, while modern nations care for nothing but property." ("Correspondance," letter to Fouché, Jan. 15, 1805)此语未见收入,意思最接近的,大概是“True civil liberty consists in the security of property. ”和“Civil liberty depends upon the security of property. ”但是仔细玩味,语意大不相同。这种分殊,难道是不同的翻译所致?语录中论及liberty的,还有下面诸条:
The conscience is the inviolable asylum of the liberty of man.
Liberty and equality are magical words.
Wherever the names of law and liberty are pronounced, the citizens become associated-equal interests.
When patriots are oppressed, public liberty is equally threatened.
A dull and monotonous life inspires in the minds of certain men, ideas which in a state of liberty, had never entered their imagination.
In Government, the highest degree of political liberty and individual security must be combined with the force and centralisation necessary to produce respect for the independence of the people, and the dignity of the Crown.
A Prince casts liberty aside, when it throws impediments in his path.
同前面的那句话相比,差别似乎更大。 |
