偶然发现，没想到奥坦斯还如此多才多艺。

《前往叙利亚》（法语：Partant pour la Syrie；英语：Departing for Syria）是一首法国歌曲，它由奥坦斯创作，并又由诗人 Alexandre de Laborde在1807年左右创作了歌词。

奥坦斯在她的回忆录称这首歌是她在马迈松居住时写下的，歌曲的灵感来自拿破仑的埃及、叙利亚远征，旋律是典型的第一帝国风格并带有十字军骑士的侠义成分。《向叙利亚进军》在整个19世纪都很有名，曾先后被许多作曲家改编为不同版本，第二帝国时期还被当作非官方的国歌，即使拿破仑三世的统治崩溃后它依然被作为军歌经常被军乐队演奏。
Labarde诗的原名为Le beau Dunois，讲述了一个英俊的十字军战士Dunois的故事，在出发前往叙利亚之前他向圣母玛利亚祈祷自己的勇敢将得到最美丽的女人的爱。他的祈祷最终被实现了，在回来的路上这位最勇敢的勇士满载着荣誉、牵着美丽的伊丽莎白的手一同归来。
