Paul Louis Narcisse Grolleron (1848-1901). Hussar, oil on wood., 42 x 33 cm.
Paul Louis Narcisse Grolleron was born in 1848 in Seignelay. He studied fine arts in the workshop of Bonnat. He died in Paris in 1901. Grolleron preferred in his painting battle scenes, portraits of military men and genre scenes from the army life. Skilled and quick master plying the brush, Grolleron professed this genre of realism in painting, which in the XIX th century replaces photographic news reports from battlefields. Painting Hussar from the collection of the National Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Moldova in Chisinau is a work of art typical for the creation of this French master: on quite small surface the artist managed to present with much refinement many details treated with almost photographic precision.

据说膘骑兵因为制服华丽的缘故，在上流社会还是很受欢迎的。

这位敲的好像不是什么上层社会的门

我是觉得这幅看似普通的人物画却小有意趣，藏在背后的花就能联想出一连串的故事来。这种效果相比整个画面构图来说就很活泼，全然不同于平常所见的气势恢弘但缺少人情味的新古典画风。

确实，看腻了一帮子骑兵拿着马刀看别人脑袋的油画，换点小细节也是不错的。
PS:那时候法国军人难道还是挎着马刀满街跑？？
