Digby Smith想必大家都很熟悉，他写有众多拿破仑相关的军事著作，比如The Greenhill Napoleonic Wars Data Book，1813 Leipzig : Napoleon and the Battle of the Nations，更重要的是在napoleon series上可以经常看到他的发言。

读过鱼鹰出版社一些书的人对Otto von Pivka肯定也不会陌生，MAA（Men-at-arms）系列的许多拿破仑题材的书都是出自他之手，但是从来没想过一个英国人和一个“德国人”会有什么关系，直到今天在讨论Napoleon's Polish Troops是被熊熊告知作者Otto von Pivka是Digby Smith的德国马甲，查了一下Digby Smith的维基百科发现果真如此：

Originally writing under the pen name, Otto von Pivka, since his retirement from the military he has written another dozen books, venturing into narrative history with his 1813: Leipzig : Napoleon and the Battle of the Nations in 2001 and Charge!: Great Cavalry Charges of the Napoleonic Wars in 2003.

列表很有趣，看完忍不住要调侃下：
Otto von Pivka用于鱼鹰（Osprey）出版社出版的书，而Pen & Sword出版社的书都署本名，要想在两家敌对出版社分别出书有个笔名还是挺方便的。(另据熊熊说Digby Smith后来用本名出了一个合集，结果被人骂为“抄袭”，看来像我一样不知道他马甲的人还是不少的。 )

Digby Smith和Kevin F. Kiley合出过一本An Illustrated Encyclopedia of Uniforms from 1775–1783（第三位作者Jeremy Black也是大熟人），众所周知Kiley的观点比较亲法，而Digby Smith则恰好相反，在亚马逊上Kiley给老朋友Digby Smith几十年的心血结晶的The Greenhill Napoleonic Wars Data Book只评了3星，认为该书优秀但不出众，并指出书中错误的将杜伦斯坦当成联军胜利（之前也是倾向于法军胜，但是根据最新的资料还是算成平局比较合适）等，好在两人合作的只是一本美国独立战争的书，如果是拿破仑时代难道要掐架不成？
